Our Pyromaniac/Sitter

Olivia has been developing her sitting abilities, and has begun sitting for longer periods of time, especially when she is entertained. One of her new forms of entertainment was unexpected...our fire. It appears we have a little pyromaniac on our hands! We have caught her staring at our fire on multiple occasions. Along with her improved sitting has come an increase in her movement. Just today she was chasing a rubber duck around the family room. It was just out of reach, and each time she got close her fingers would push it further away since she couldn't quite grasp it. She didn't get far inching around on her belly, instead of rolling or scooting on her back, but the prospect is making me nervous...

St. Louis City Museum

While in St. Louis we visited the City Museum. It was pretty amazing. I would love to go back in a few years when Olivia would actually be able to enjoy it. As it was, she loved all the new things and people to look at, and was very entertained riding around in her stroller.

Little Swimmer

I went to St. Louis with Olivia and some of my family while Bobby studied for finals. This was Olivia's first opportunity to go swimming, other than the lake this summer when she was 2 months old (which was only happening over my dead body). She was able to experience her first swim in the indoor hotel pool, which was fairly warm. She LOVED it, just as I had predicted! Plus she sported the bikini very nicely, with her leg rolls and all!

Turkey Day Weekend

The following three pictures made me laugh, due to the variety of expressions. I'm just guessing here, but I think Olivia and Bobby may have been scaring Isabelle. By the end, she looks a little unsure of her company.
I loved the outfit Olivia wore for Thanksgiving! (Thanks Grandma Gene!!)
Olivia has learned to thoroughly enjoy her big girl meals, and has moved on to carrots, which she LOVES!

First Meal (of Rice Ceareal...YUM!)

After getting the green light at her checkup today we came home and fed Olivia her first rice cereal. She did a GREAT job! Of course we knew she would! She has been very interested in food, and has successfully dumped my plate on more than one occasion. We knew she was ready, and were so excited to capture this fun milestone in her life!
I think she thoroughly enjoyed herself!
Of course we had to capture some actual video footage along with all of the pictures!! (Don't worry, there's LOTS more!) This is my favorite one! Enjoy! :)

First Tooth!!!

Olivia's first tooth popped up yesterday. She had been extra drooly (not a word, but I'm using it anyway!) lately, but I was expecting all of the awful symptoms usually associated with teething as a final warning sign. Luckily, it came in with no major issues! Then, at her 6 month checkup today, the Dr. told us it looks like #2 will be on its way soon. So I'm issuing fair warning now...Olivia can bite! :)

Toes

I have already talked about Olivia sucking on her toes, but I took some pictures and videos Tuesday that I thought were pretty funny. She gets really into it! She loves her feet, with or without socks.

November Update

It has been a few weeks since I posted anything, so here we go! The first picture is from the 10th, and the rest are from the 16th. Enjoy!
Olivia turned 6 months old on Sunday! I can hardly believe it...the time has literally FLOWN by. She is getting better at sitting up, drools constantly, and she wants to touch everything and then put it in her mouth. She is talking more and more, and has even started saying 'da-da-da-da' occasionally, which of course Bobby takes to mean 'Dada!' Although she discovered her hands awhile ago, and uses them quite well, she recently discovered her fingers. We catch her staring at them all the time. She will use one hand to touch the other hand's fingers, and spread them out. She will even use them to separate out the strands of ribbon that are her doll's pigtails. (I'm not sure if she's more interested in the ribbon or her fingers, but she loves it!) Oh, and did I mention that she is stinkin' CUTE!?! :)

Best Friends

Olivia and Daisy are already turning into best friends. They know they are supposed to keep a safe distance from one another, but they both would LOVE a chance to cuddle/lick/slobber each other. Today Daisy proved to be great entertainment for Olivia. The video is a little dark, but the audio is the key. So turn your speakers up and be prepared to smile! :)

Daddy and Olivia were sure having fun!

All Grown Up!

Olivia's highchair came in on Tuesday, so I had Bobby immediately put it together. After which, Olivia had to try it out. I was a little nervous at how well she would be able to sit in it, but was surprised by the results....my little teeny tiny baby is all grown up!! At least that is how I felt when I saw her sitting up like such a big girl in her highchair all by herself.
She loved it right away.
Perhaps because Bobby and I were going a little crazy. (I'm conveniently leaving off the pictures of me...I was REALLY excited!) We also got her several bowls and spoons, and are trying to get all geared up for the 6 month milestone of getting to start eating. I can't wait to catch some footage of her first bites of FOOD! :)

Zebra or Siberian Tiger?

Since we put Olivia in her Halloween costume on Saturday, it has been almost impossible for us to take it off of her...she's just too darn cute! Our only dilemma has been what animal she is dressed up as - a zebra or a Siberian tiger? I'm siding on the zebra side, while Bobby likes calling her a tiger cub (which I admit, has a cute ring).

Saturday we went to the church trunk-or-treat. After trying all week to kill the battery on my camera (unsuccessfully), the battery decided it needed to be recharged a couple hours before we left. Since it takes 4 hours to charge, we have no photographic evidence of the trunk-or-treat...which makes me VERY sad! So, to make up for it, we went on a walk Sunday afternoon with Olivia in her costume and took some pictures then.
Align CenterI apologize for the lack of make-up...this was after my Sunday afternoon nap!
How could you not kiss that sweet little animal?!?

Fake sleeper?

She's not really fake sleeping (obviously, since she's only 5 months old), but that's what this picture made me think of. :)

Do you see an animal?

Olivia and I went to the zoo this past Wednesday with some family. The weather was perfect, as was Olivia. She slept for the first little bit, then enjoyed looking around at all the new things. I love her different expressions in the following pictures...priceless!

Say 'CHEESE!'

This picture cracks me up!
Olivia got a new doll that has great colors and textures, plus it has a little rattle. She LOVES it!
